This theory course examines basic concepts, processes, and applications of nursing research and the research role of the professional nurse.

NUR 3233 Health Assessment
This course utilizes theory and practice to explore the role of the professional nurse in completing a comprehensive health history and head to toe assessments to promote the health status of the client.

NUR 3343 Transition to Professional Practice
This course provides and introduction to the ADN RN to explore the professional role of the bachelors prepared nurse in complex systems. The concepts of this course include, but are not limited to: the scope and standards of professional nursing practice, the theoretical basis of practice, the ethical and legal components of practice, and inter-professional communication and collaboration for improving patient health outcomes.

NUR 3445 Leadership in Nursing
This course focuses on application of leadership theories, professional competencies, organizational change, ethical decision-making, and communication while building interprofessional relationships in complex and diverse settings.

NUR 4125 Community and Public Health Nursing
This course integrates knowledge of nursing theory to assess the needs of the population across the lifespan. Community health nursing combines concepts focused on the health promotion of individuals, families, and communities.

NUR 4235 Complex Clinical Nursing
This course focuses on the provision of professional nursing care for the adult client experiencing a critical illness. This course emphasizes decision-making skills, independent functioning, and assessment based problem-solving.

NUR 4333 Nursing Informatics
This course examines the history of healthcare informatics, current issues, basic informatics concepts and health information management systems. It reviews how technology is used to help make decisions and to improve the health status of individuals, families, and the community. Students will apply informatics concepts to a current clinical practice setting suggesting methods to use technology to improve patient safety and work effectiveness.

NUR 4443 Nursing Capstone
Provides a synthesis of knowledge gained from RN-BSN curriculum and its application to the role of professional nurse with evolving professional issues, health care environment, lifelong learning, and promotion of the Nursing profession designed for Registered Nurses RN- BSN student.
