Applied Music and Ensembles (14 Hours)

Six semesters of major ensemble for a minimum of 6 credit hours. Six hours of Applied Music (at least two at the 4000 level). Any 8 semester hours of upper-level courses with a MUS prefix (music electives).

Required Program Support

Three additional hours of foreign language. To fulfill the Liberal Arts and Sciences hour requirement for the B.A. degree, nine additional semester hours must be selected from: ART 1103 or ART 3083; THTR 1183, 2183, or 3183; ENG 2313 or 3893.

Note: Students must enroll in at least one major ensemble per semester until degree requirements are met. Vocal major ensembles include Southeastern Chorale and University Singers (if placed by audition). Instrumental major ensembles include Spirit of Southeastern Marching Band, Symphonic Winds, and Concert Band (if placed by audition). Music degree candidates must make a grade of C or higher in all music courses.
